my name is Frank (franx) Barbara. i’m a graphic artist/illustrator from Toronto Ontario. this blog spawned from a new year resolution i made (starting 1/1/10) to finish one non work related illustration a day.
the kinds of stuff i’m inspired by are: gig posters, album covers, graphic novels, video games, t-shirts, street fashion, concept art, cartoons, etc… i like to play with contradictions, opposites and random/unlikely pairings. for my resolution, i eventually settled on creating one new unique character every (week)day and as a unifying theme, to have them all brandishing a weapon of some sort.
in theory, this blog will be updated every single weekday with a brand spanking new drawing of a random armed or “packed” person.
once posted, the illustrations will most likely not be changed however feedback including: criticism, suggestions, requests and even original creative writing, is highly encouraged and very very welcome.
